Do you run individual remote wires or run 1 in series for multiple amps?

I would say it ground itself through the amp. The remote wire isn't grounded at the remote turn on terminal else would ground out the remote turn on circuit of the HU and no amps would work.

Thats my point. Positive to negative... obviously thru a circuit. Now lets put it in another perspective, your car radio can turn on and off regardless if the remote wire is connected to the amp. An amp without a remote wire from the head unit will not turn on....

if you wire the positive and negative on the amp, the amp wont turn on but it still has power at the amp from the battery. In order for that amp to turn on, the signal from the remote sends power to the internal relay... relays it grounds itself out when power is sent to it... therefore making it a Positive to negative connection

Yeah you have to have a + to - connection somewhere else you wouldn't have a circuit ergo no current would flow. The issue is you're not running the 2nd 3rd 4th...amps off the the remote on. The remote on grounds itself through the relay which is ground to the common ground. Its the same for every amplifier. Try drawing the circuit yourself and see if it makes more sense. you could even substitute for this argument the diagram I drew. The relays are then in parallel. They have a common postive (the remote turn on) and a common ground, the amps ground to chassis.

The chasis... as far as the radio and amp is concerned, but what I'm saying is there isn't a positive and negative run for a remote wire, just positive... the remote signal from the headunit grounds itself out at the amp

so my amps are wired in series to my battery up front? I only have a positive run from my battery.

no because the chassis is the common ground... but you talking about the radio sending a hot signal to an amp while its powered.... it doesn't send a signal when the radio is off....your battery and amp always have power even while the car is off hence how you can create a spark if you touch metal to barewire contact... when your car is off that remote wire isn't holding current, its completely off, so your headunit is the Positive while its powered, that power is ran to a relay inside the amp that grounds itself out to tell the amp to turn on.

Now you're talking more about the circuits within a circuit. I think the only people the movie Inception made sense to were EE's You do not have a simple DC circuit. You can't think of it like that; you've got a lot more going on. ven with 2 amps and an HU relay you get a multitude of different circuits in circuits in circuits ....You don't believe us then draw out a somewhat simplified diagram of a couple amps with simple relays in each amp.Treat the HU as a relay and each amp as a relay and have 12V DC source and common chassis ground. Follow the voltage or the current (both if you want to mentally masturbate) and you will see.

AHHHH! I got you..... had a moment...! You guys who said parallel are right!! The circuit within the hu grounds itself at the chassis thus making that board a common ground since the remote is connected to that same board...
