JEFFYBOI
Ran across someones build and seen they had run about 5+ remote wires back for there amps. My question is why? If you only have a single source why wouldn't you just run your remote wire in series to each amp? Is there something im overlooking here? MrSkippyJ
5+ probably comes from a relay. Remote outputs on a headunit can only support so many devices. Remote outputs on a headunit can only support so many devices. After so many devices (amps)? the signal from the HU becomes to weak so a relay is put it to beef up the signal? alaskanzx5
You run the remote from the deck to a relay then power through the relay to the amps. basically the remote turns the relay on and the relay sends the 12v signal to the amps. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz. JEFFYBOI
Ok i understand. I deal with commercial and industrial contactors and relays but i just wasn't aware you needed one in this situation.. so you would need another 12v source to feed the relay also I'm assuming ? The hu remote energizes the coil on the relay which closes the contacts which sends a 12v signal back to the amps. _paralyzed_
Multiple accessories cause too much current draw and can burn out the remote circuit in your radio, which can burn other parts along with it and fry your radio. I've never had a problem running up to 3 devices. I don't know the limit, it would be different with each radio. I say you'll be safe with up to 3 things. Anymore and I would run a relay. Technically speaking, this would be wiring them in "parallel", not "series".

The only way i can see it being in parallel is if you spliced the 1 remote wire off the Hu and ran multiple wires back to each amp.. Im thinking run 1 remote back to amp (1) jump off amp (1) remote and go to amp (2) and then off that amp to amp (3) For example... that would be running 1 single remote wire in series to 3 amps "Toyota Camry rebuild page 21 (link)http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/183768-94-crossfire-camry-18s-walled-singer-alt-has-arrived-rebuild-starts-pg-10/page-21 PIONEER DEH-P8400BH 2 CROSSFIRE C5 1700D 2 CROSSFIRE C7 18 HOOD. Krakin
It is parallel as you are not getting the the signal from the end of the circuit from the remote. You are just getting the signal from the same input as the other remote input. Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.
