I have a DD 715, i have two box designs, 1 with flared port and 156L and 1 with slot port and 121L. Both tuned to 35Hz What would you chose? gckless Posted July 16, 2014 Report Posted July 16, 2014 A slot port can be flared. I don't get it. Did you mean an aero or some sort of circular port? "Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. It's like witchcraft... it automatically explains just about everything people don't understand. Triticum Agricolam Posted July 16, 2014 Report Posted July 16, 2014 Appropriately sized they will both perform the same. "Nothing prevents people from knowing the truth more than the belief they already know it.""Making bass is easy, making music is the hard part."Builds:
Cj Kumz Posted July 16, 2014 Report Posted July 16, 2014 Depends on port area and in2 per cube. But if done properly as Triticum says they should perform the same. Sonic10 Posted July 16, 2014 Author Report Posted July 16, 2014 1 box has a L-port and the other has a round port Chrysler Stratus DD Cs 6.5 DD A2 ZV4 12 DD M1c 1/0 Gauge SHCA
Hugh G. Rection Posted July 16, 2014 Report Posted July 16, 2014 Appropriately sized they will both perform the same. huh? there is undeniable mathematical and aerodynamic evidence to show that even having the same amount of port area will perform differently based on certain elements of the port itself. never knows best Posted July 16, 2014 Report Posted July 16, 2014 meter one then the other... do i have to tell you to pick the one that has the higher number? or wait for more guesses-
Aj11 Posted July 16, 2014 Report Posted July 16, 2014 it depends on application. if port clearance is a issue go flared. i hear aeros are more efficient, but they should be about the same. i can say this, every custom box I've heard with aaero prort has been very impressive! so much so I'm going to run one with my new build jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)
