BobbyBobo Posted July 29, 2014 Report Share Posted July 29, 2014 Need just a solid daily sub for my Explorer. I listen to all kindsa music. I wouldn't say I want specifically "spl" or "sq". I guess the biggest turn off I've seen in subs is peaky response, a flat-ish reponse is nice (I know there's a lot of factors there). Got ~1500w, and a 5.2ft^3 @ 27hz (round about after all displacements) ported box that I'd like to use. Haven't follwed car audio closely, so I don't know what all to look at. I can say one of my favorite subs I've heard is a 15" FI BL, so their 18" BL is probably one good option. I probably wouldn't want to spend over $400. I run an Tantric HD 15 and love the musical qualities of it. Ask any of the guys I gave demo's to at Heatwave, it plays WONDERFULLY down to the low 20's, but I can still jam out to Korn, AC/DC, Led Zepplin, Bloodbath...whatever I choose.
