hey guys quick question, if i have two 4 ohm door speakers (6.5's) can i wire them too 2 ohm like you would do to single ohm subs? Just trying to get the most out of my amp =]

As long as the amp can handle it, you can wire 50 speakers to 2Ω.

Yes. Just make sure your amp will handle the 2ohm load.

two speakers per door, or two speakers total?

If its two per door and they are 4 each, then yes.

If its two total (one per door) then no, unless you dislike stereo...

Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through.

Have you seen an amp that can't handle a 2 ohm load?

Yep If they are being bridged plenty of them. Which a lot of times people on here asking these questions are usually planning to bridge their 4 channel amps thinking they will get more power to their speakers than just using all 4 channels.

And actually now that I think about it I don't think the Rockford boosted rail amps run at 2 ohm.

Well the thing is I have a Rockford fosgate amp that runs 75watts rms x2 at 2ohm and 50rms x2 at 4. I have 2 speakers, one on each door and they're rated at 80rms. So I wanted to get each single 4ohm and wire it too 2ohm to get 75watts to each speaker like you would to a sub. But I've never done that so I wanted to know if it was possible :). If it will sound bad I'll just sell my amp and buy a 2 channel with proper wattage. I drive a 350z so I'm mostly focusing on the front stage the rear is going to be powered by my pioneer avic double din just as fill in, most 350z just get a really good front stage cause our rear speakers are pretty much useless and it's not really worth investing in

If it's one speaker in each door you're not going to want to do that as it would no longer be stereo as noted in a post above. If you need more power get a bigger amp.

No No No

Wire one speaker each channel. Im sure you'll be surprised how loud 50w can get. If you arent' happy, THEN you can look at getting a new, more powerful amp.
