alaskanzx5
yes. the biggest metal of the car...frame, etc, or the neg. post. is the best ground. This is untrue to a certain degree. When the car is running as long as you are above battery resting voltage ground is the alt case. As it is a return path, returns to where it started. You can ground to the battery but if you say have 250amps total being pulled by 3 amps and have each amp grounded to the battery make sure have a battery ground wire that is equal to or greater then what the 3 amps draw. Just my 2cents. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz. alaskanzx5
1 common ground helps prevent ground loop. Best way to truly find the best ground is to turn the car on and use a dmm to measure resistance between where you want to ground and the alt case. Repeat the test but from ground to battery neg. Use the one that has the least amount of resistance. Imo checking resistance between stock battery location to alt case is a good idea to. It will help you find weak spots and optimize your electrical. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
