Broke_Audio_Addict Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 wouldn't you just turn the headunit off? I don't see the point in doing this There's reasons for everything. For example: maybe he wants to turn of his front stage amp when he's burping. Wouldn't want to turn off the HU in that case now would you? OP, Parts Express will take care of you. If that's the case I would use multiple Pac lc-1's it would give way more control than just on or off but that's just me. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
biscuitownz Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 Any spdt switch rated at 2amp or higher will work.
Zero_Tolerance_ Posted September 15, 2014 Author Report Posted September 15, 2014 it's called a remote wire, WTF do you need a switch for if it's installed correctly? It's really not a hard concept to understand. There's times where I'd just rather not be bumping. I just so happen to know people who don't like the bass. There are a few other situations I can think of as well. Sure a bass knob would work for this too, but I'd rather just flip a switch instead of messing with that. I find it hard to believe you've never seen this done before.
Zero_Tolerance_ Posted September 15, 2014 Author Report Posted September 15, 2014 Also confused as tho why you need the switch. Will you be using a stock head unit? No I will not. I'm running it to a fuse though, because it will be easier, and look cleaner, for me to run the wires for my switch to where I want it. Even if I did go to my HU, why would I wanna go through my menus to shut it off when I can flip a switch.
Broke_Audio_Addict Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 I'm not saying you shouldn't or can't I have done so myself but I would prefer to use a Pac-lc1 it will give the ability to essentially mute your subs but also set it to any level you desire instead of just on or off. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

I do also have a bass knob which does the same thing.. Yeah I could just use that but why have the amp running if the subs aren't being used.
MrSkippyJ Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 Wow really? all this because he wants to add a switch on his remote wire? OP get a SPST switch and put on the remote wire of whatever amp you want to shut off. Some of you are acting like this is the most asinine concept you have ever heard of. If you don't want to play your subs, why would let the amp stay on? dolarbilz Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 I have a switch on all my amps. To turn off my front stage when burping or turn off my bass amp when I don't want it.no sense having it on when not in playing it.its really not a hard thing to understand people.. Having a switch is nice to me..when competing hard sometimes you'll through your amp in protect.well with a Flix of a switch on and off your back up running not waiting to restart deck.
