Neo magnet > door flex

those magnets are stronger than you realize. I have some at home and they are pretty tough to pull a part jf you dont have a way to wedge something between them

If something could be wedged between them... What would you suggest?

10 second brain storming in my application would be to literally cover 1 of the two magnets in said material via epoxy.

I'd think your money would be better spent and more effective trying to simply get the door fixed so that it closes snugly.

I also think that by the time you add enough magnets to keep the door firmly in place you will have some real difficulty opening it. Cool and fun until some bean-bag friend breaks a letch trying to yank it open.

door does fit snugly. It doesn't let rain in or anything. It just has about a 1/4 mis alignment that causes it to not grip the latch as well as the passenger side. By the time i got my whole b pillar and driver side of my car cut id be in about 2 grand in body work labor which is more then the car is worth and 1/3 the cost of my system.

If the passenger side fits 10/10 then the driver fits 7/10 and its not like its come collector car thats worth restoring. Remember to get this fixed as if it was to come new from honda i would need to cut, 90% of the b pillar, and cut through the bottom of the door frame half way into each door (3 total cuts) and do the proper body work and alignment and get OEM doors and b pillars. It looks like it was done by a decent body shop that was told to rush and get it done as cheaply as possible. Is it safe? Yes, is it perfect OEM and taking 147db as well as the OEM? No... hence the thread.

I see the magnets cracking/breaking

Direct door to magnet contact?

The way i have it envisioned in my head is something to the effect of one magnet epoxied to the door, another in reverse polarity epoxied to the body of the car that lines up with that part of the door.

Again, this was a brainstorming idea to try to think out of the box instead of just adding weight to something to try to stop it from flexing.

Here is a video of the flex I'm talking about. Reference the driver door to the passenger door.

If there is a way to modify my latch instead of having to body work my whole side of the car then that is something i would pursue.
