Totalnoob
the frequency range on the rockford website says those speakers can play 85hz-5khz, so i will set the highpass to 80hz with a 18db slope and the lowpass to 4khz with a 12db slope. (i think i got those filters right idk....what ever ill be doing a bandpass you get the idea)
poorfish88
I only set my amps high pass to 80ish. Might not be right, but I did it. Me trying to keep the super low bass away from it. Remember that it's a mid range speaker, not a mid bass speaker. It sounds fine to me without the mid bass speaker. I keep my sub crossed about 80 as well. SIDE SHOW
If your blowing cheap speakers i'd suggest you do some research as to why they are blowing.... don't want you to spend the coin on a decent set of speaker just to have them die on you too. because they are worth more doesn't mean they can handle a clipped signal for longer. Skullz
Great speakers are expensive for a reason. Quality, Quality, Quality, regardless of what you listen to, you'll never hear what a great speaker will let you hear from a poor quality speaker. Once you get into a quality speaker they are hard to go back to cheap speakers cause of how shitty they sound, but the biggest thing you could ever do is to prepare your doors and vehicle.
