AstoSoup
I am looking to add another PowerBass 3XL 152D in the near future and will need more power. I have scoured the forums and done Google searches, but cannot seem to find what I am looking for, maybe it doesn't exist lol. When looking at a lot of amps these days, the specs are kind of vague and rarely mention anything about voltage and efficiency. What I need is a 2k RMS @2ohm or .5ohm, that is efficient at less than 13v. My current amp, as well as many of the bigger class D's I see, are doing rated @14.4.... a voltage we all know needs a lot of battery to maintain. My current Hifonics BRZ1700.1D is wired to my 1000w 3XL @1ohm, doing a "claimed" 1700W RMS, and the 3XL is barely moving. So I do not think I am keeping at 14+ volts, will find out once my new voltage meter comes. Anyways, I was looking at a Lanzar OPTI2000D, 2K @.5ohm. Very foggy as what the efficiency is on it, so I figured I would see if anyone had a damn clue about that, or know of a 2k that IS efficient @.5 or 2ohms? I would like to keep my spending cap at $350 and my electrical and other specs are in my sig, any input is appreciated! Thanks! sbg
2k under 350. Nope. And 2 ohm or .5 stable at that power even harder. I run the new line of orion xtr amps. If your looking for something to do power at 12v look at the xtr2200([email protected]). I'm sure you could pull .5 ohm with it also. Broke_Audio_Addict
2k at 2 ohms for under $350 isn't going to happen you're going to have to step up your budget or possibly look at used amps. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals. As I would LIKE to keep my cap at $350, it will probably end up being more of a wish than anything... never seem to stay within budget lol. I will have to check the specs out and see what people say about it doing .5ohm. I heard they are great amps though and I figured they would be more than that... Souldrop
anything at .5 ohms is not going to be efficient quite the opposite. For 350 you might get lucky to buy something used, but its going to take a bit of looking for anything that produces 2000@ 2ohm at 13v...You're probably going to need to increase your budget or lower your expectations. 1997 Lexus ES300 HU - Pioneer MVH 7350 Processor - Helix DSP Front Stage - JBL P660C Mid/high amp - Alpine PDX-F4 Subs - 1 IA Death Penalty 12 Sub Amp - Cactus Sounds PF300.

Karkov
subs barely moving off a 1700? You really need to get that volt meter installed and see where voltage is at. Also, 2k RMS at 2 ohm will be much more than 350 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq.
