Jhunt94
The prime amps are surprisingly efficient. 4guage would be just fine on it. ^what he said. Those amps put out a surprising amount of power, but aren't power hungry so 4 gauge will be fine. 2007 Ford F-150 Reg. Cab. Team Bassick - Kimo
My basic rule of thumb when comes down to wiring is anything over 1000 watts should be at least 1/0. 1500-2000 big three. Over 2K upgrade battery. over 2500 upgrade alternator and add at least 1 Battery. 3000+ caps and batteries (both or either) depending on applications. Slinky
Lmfao!!! No way in hell you need 1/0 for a 1200 watt amp. No. fuckin. way. Unless you are doing a super long run or something, get some 4 gauge and be done with it already. As for the amp.. That rockford that was originally linked will do rated, will match your gear, and is super affordable. Motorboat KER
It also depends on the quality and type of the wire... cca, ofc

If it needed 1/0, don't you think the manufacturer would have recommended it and made the terminals large enough to accomodate it? 2007 Ford F-150 Reg. Cab. goldmouth
Yea ^^ dats what I was thinking I have a 1000 watt kicker amp that only has 4 gauge terminals & I kno it'll do more than 1000 watts
RainStryke
Just because a amplifier doesn't have 0/1 gauge terminals, doesn't mean it can't work with a 4GA to 1/0GA adapter. Maybe he's talking about CCA wire.
Team Bassick - Kimo
Its my rule of thumb, because there is no such thing as not enough wire. 1/0 power from front to back then distro down to whatever the amp or amps take. With as many systems I have done over the year there is one thing that is apparent. IT IS ALMOST NEVER FINISHED!!!! Unless you are going full competition retarded that single run of 1/0 will run almost any system. Again that is my rule of thumb. If running one amp around 1000 watts a single 4 gauge run of wire is fine. KIMO @teambassick http://www.teambassick.com
