Got my new windscreen (windshield to you guys) and got my doors tinted. Not gunna smash the glass with the subs anymore :( 35% tint which I know is weak as but didn't want to go too dark with a car with limited vision like this.

Also got my A pillars painted in spray stone. They are sounding OK but I'd like something louder. You get pretty used to them quickly :(

Now all I need is for my gear to arrive and we can really make some progress. Still trying to think of ideas for door speakers because the plain doors are mighty boring!

Thanks guys

Had a lazy day today just chilled out mainly. Dynamatted the front doors and that's about it.

Stripped

Posted Image

I hate this guy

Posted Image

All clean, the doors were full of mud and goop :S Don't think she'll be doing much 4WDing these days though!!

Posted Image

A little bit of Dynamat. No speakers in doors so no need to seal service holes. The service holes are so small it was a real paint to Dynamat inside. Cut up my forearms a bit trying to get inside :P

My Dad also had these big rims laying around from his Landcruiser so I threw one on to see if they'd fit. They look massive compared to the stockies. Don't think I'll keep em but..

Filling out the guards

Size comparo :o

Thanks for the comments guys.

Thanks guys :)

Haven't been upto much lately just taking it easy.

Made up this little holder for the voltage readout. Nothing flashy but nice and practical to serve its purpose.

Started the almost never ending job of the rear end's wiring. Started with the link between front and rear of car.

You can see where it comes from under the wall here, with the ANL fuse ready to bolt onto one of the rear batteries so they can be charged by the alternator.

Posted Image

Comes out in the middle here

Posted Image

Did I mention it was a squeeze to fit everything in here? Here's how much room I have to play with, and when those rear doors close, they push right up against the batteries. Not even room for a piece of paper I bet :P

Posted Image

While we're on the topic of wire runs, here's the speaker cables for the woofers. The bundle with green tape denotes the top row wire so I don't confuse them and their phase. Hopefully this method of cable will have very minimal resistance.

Posted Image

Then I made lots of these up

Posted Image

They link the batteries together. I recycled some pieces that's why the ring terminals aren't quite identical. Did I mention this is a budget build??

Then the covers go ontop and everything is hidden out the way :)

Ok well I had to spend a few hours in thw fiery depths of hell today (work :( ) so when I got home I was shagged as usual. Didn't get much done just a general tidy up of the back end and also the engine bay wiring.

More wiring added, this is where the batteries are all linked up. Used M6 stainless hex heads instead of the crapty bolts that came with the batteries.

Posted Image

Grounding points to one of the batteries, the floor was taken back to bare metal with a wire brush attachment and then this alloy angle bolted on firmly then painted over. The other major grounding point, on the other side is hidden and I didn't get a pic.

Posted Image

Same sheet different pic..

Posted Image

More linking.

This is where everything all meets up. What a mess! Four fuse holders and tonnes of cable. The engine bay is really dirty too. Have to clean it up somehow. Still have to conduit the orange 0awg charge cabling coming through the firewall. I really need to make some real bus bars on this battery to clean it up.
