Broke_Audio_Addict
If you want to save money trying looking at nicer used amps. try craigslist, pawn shops and the classifieds here.CL in this area is very picked over as far as auto electronics Was thinking of checking the classifieds on here earlier so I may give that a go. I didn't know brand on component amps was such a factor, as the amps do not put out much in lieu of RMS. I only need around 300RMS to do the job, sucks that manufacturers cannot even get an amp of that wattage right lol. Guess I will start with AQ, as I am leaning towards two, AQ-1200.1D's strapped for my subs and even if I end up with something else, an AQ 4ch. will be good! Just save up and get the soundqubed 4ch then. And the 4 channel quality matters big time. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals. AstoSoup
Should also ask what's your max budget? Didn't really want to break $100 on this.... Wasn't planning on keeping the amp for more than like 3 months, so couldn't see spending a ton. Used, JL Audios with a blown channel are going for like $100 used though.... What is with small, 4ch. amps being as much as a 1200w mono of the same brand? lol Head Unit - Clarion VX709 7" DVD Touchscreen Mid/Highs - Front Doors - RF Prime 6.5" component mids. A. I guess the lack of mid/high range has driven me to the point of wanting any amp that will get them louder. Again, have always done SQ and never had bass loud enough to overpower the mid/highs, so have never bothered with a 4ch. Had an old school RF in there for a while but after soldering it about 10 times over the years, the circut couldn't take another repair :/ Suppose I will just save a little more cash before the holiday wallet drain comes, lol. Can $150 get me a Crescendo, SQB or something similar in quality, while only needing 300RMS? I have only looked on eBay thus far, which do not sell many good brand of amps.... But I guess if component amp brand DOES make a difference, it leaves me no choice.... Made the mistake of buying this Hifonics for my subs and have since been educated on which amps are junk and which amps are not. Never been educated on the 4 ch. amps so thanks for the lesson, lol. Going to look around for something decent, may just cut my losses and get that Q4. Will post back if I have questions on another brand., thanks again for all the help man, again lol Head Unit - Clarion VX709 7" DVD Touchscreen Mid/Highs - Front Doors - RF Prime 6.5" component mids.
