Hotdog
Is there anyone here that can explain the difference from these two models. Hertz Hi Energy HSK 165XL and Hertz Hi Energy HSK 165 I know there is a 50 watt difference between them but is there an audible difference at a normal listening volume? is the crossover different? Hotdog
well guess I found it somewhere if anyone can confirm. The XL has longer excursion, bigger magnet on the Mid-bass and a 28mm tweeter instead of 25, also a beefier x-over, so all in all a beefier component set, higher power handling and greater sensitivity. so I am wondering now if it is more a x-over thing. If going active what would the difference be between the to and would it be worth the extra $100.00. Wish I could listen to both of them but I would have to drive 3 hours to someone that carries them (NEW) 2004 F-150 Build Log -->http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/192208-hotdogs-f-150-build-log/ 2003 Mercury Mountaineer Build Log --> http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/114380-hotdogs-2003-mountaineer-build-log-20-removed/page__gopid__1602379#entry1602379 2008 Equinox Build Log --> http://www.stevemead...g/#entry1475764
evermaxx
Yes, you're 2nd post is true And you will still get better sound out the XL running active. OrionStang
Power Handling. Bigger tweeter. Most people probably wouldn't notice a difference, but if you hear the 165 then the 165XL, sounds better. The crossover on the XL set is crossed a tad lower I believe, since the 28mm tweeters can reach down more than the 25mm version.
