TRON
I've got some clunky sounds coming from the rear of my truck, and I know it suspension. When I changed over to my new wheels, and had the back end jacked up, there was noticeable play in the suspension. Should I just replace the shocks and hope that's the solution or take it to a mechanic and see if there something else like sway bar or wherever else gets worn out? OrionStang
Clunking could be bushings. The suspension on my car is notorious for clunking noises just due to design, and it gets worse and worse as the control arm bushings wear. jk13
Remember where the noticeable play was? Order a new one of those... No seriously it's 5 links and shocks on your Avalanche. Should be easy to find the issue and replace a pair of arms or shocks. Save yourself the labor cost. Static drops are my bag.
TRON
It would be nice if I could buy just the bushing for all of the moving parts...though I doubt I can. Avy is on the Suburban chassis--multi link with coil springs. I've lowered nearly 100 of them. Static drops are my bag.

May save you a few bucks, but unless you have a portable press the arms have to come all the way off anyway and be fought with on the bench to replace the bushings, so it's half as much work to simply replace the arms. Skullz
You can burn the rubber bushings out from the parts with a torch and replace them, but if your going to go through that much trouble i would get some poly bushings to replace the stockers with. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
