Bracing with angle iron (thick...not the flimsy stuff)

Its a pain in the ass always adjusting the fence on the saw when cutting but the outcome is so much stronger.
Everything I did on this box was interlocking corners, all joints where also offset on all layers so there wouldnt be 2 pieces of wood ajoining in the same spot.

Can also check out how I braced the sides on this 4 18 box. the thing is a tank, but the added bracing took minimal displacement away compared to doing a full added layer.

Simple U shaped panels between the port wall and outer edges can be done as well like so.

Here are some other ideas..

I take it those are your designs?.....unreal woodworking skills....very nice!

I decided I'm going to shave off 3/4" from each front baffle (port sides) with the jig saw and make new ports with the inner port layer extending to the front edge of the baffle (excluding the beauty panel). This will keep the port more consistent as well.

I'll post some pictures tomorrow of the results.....wish I didn't have to work tomorrow!

Again, really nice designs! Quit showing off! haha

yes sir, and thanks!

Just some of the boxes I built, trying to show ya examples of ways to stiffen things up, and a couple ways to brace without taking up a crap ton of displacement throwing the box specs all to hell and back. ;)

They make a pill for that you know...

God your woodworking skills make me want throw my tools in the garbage and just pay you to do my enclosure builds. Do you ship or do I have to drive to Wisconsin ?

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

Dont need angle iron in such a small box..

A lot of strength could of been added with interlocking your joints, but you didnt do that.

Changed the baffle to give it an interlocking joint......had to use a jig saw with an extended blade....big mistake. Cut came out horrible but I was able to sand it down a little and with bracing and tiger hair, it should be okay.

I was very tempted to cut out the entire baffle and redo it but was worried about damaging the other surfaces and making it worse.

(port walls are only propped up in this picture, not glued yet)

*you can see on the right side, the surface got chewed up a little bit....good thing I'm putting a beauty panel on here!

*Definitely investing in a decent table saw.....OR, sounds like a good Christmas present the wife can get me! haha

Do you think it would be worth the time/effort putting corners in like this for the front baffle? (I would also have a piece running along the edge connected to these wedges).

Here's what I'm thinking......
