DylanBunch Posted November 19, 2014 Report Posted November 19, 2014 I just got a new one cause my old one got fucked up and now with the new one it gets to full tilt at around 2/3 of the way up and stops getting louder past that point. Gains are all the way down with the new lc1 too. Any ideas? Problem persists on all volumes too 2006 Ford Explorer 2 Team AA/Sundown 15s 6th order Ct Sounds 7k 4 PRV Mr500 8s Rockford p1000-2 Team Subsonic Lows

DylanBunch Posted November 19, 2014 Author Report Posted November 19, 2014 What I don't get though is the gains can't go down any farther, it can only go up and I know if the gains are too high it can cause the problem I'm having but they're not 2006 Ford Explorer 2 Team AA/Sundown 15s 6th order Ct Sounds 7k 4 PRV Mr500 8s Rockford p1000-2 Team Subsonic Lows
RooTxBeeR Posted November 19, 2014 Report Posted November 19, 2014 That sounds weird. Just do what smoove said and turn the lc1 to max and reset gains. Really, should fix the deal. audiofanaticz Posted November 19, 2014 Report Posted November 19, 2014 Ive noticed a couple issues with the LC-1. 1st issue is in cold weather the knob is hard to turn. 2nd issue is they wear out rather quickly and as the contacts in the potentiometer wear out you sometimes get static or dead spots in the switch. 3rd issue is sometimes the actual knob spins on the potentiometer shaft, so you may think its not all the way up because the knob is still spinning but you hear no increase in volume. 3rd issue is probably your problem, if not the 2nd. To test the first issue pull the plastic knob off (it pops right off, just pull outward) and you should see the potentiometer shaft that the knob sits on. Try adjusting the volume with the knob off and see if your problem still exists, if the problem is fixed with the knob off, than your knob is just spinning on the shaft making you think its not all the way up and not getting louder as you turn it. Simply take a dab of super glue and put it in the knob hole where the shaft goes, than put it back on the potentiometer shaft. Give it a couple hours to dry before going happy turning the knob back and forth and you should be good.
DylanBunch Posted November 19, 2014 Author Report Posted November 19, 2014 I've actually had the problem with the knob spinning but not the shaft, it's brand new and I just took it out of the box a couple hours ago. It also stops right where it should once all the way up unlike my old one. Honestly everything is fine with the knob, it doesn't spin more than it should or anything. It's just acting as if I have the gain cranked making it reach max output too quickly but the gain is as low as it can go and it's doing it on all volumes. I'll try resetting the gain tomorrow (even though it's all the way down) and I'll take the knob cap off and play with it but I am starting to feel like I got a messed up one 2006 Ford Explorer 2 Team AA/Sundown 15s 6th order Ct Sounds 7k 4 PRV Mr500 8s Rockford p1000-2 Team Subsonic Lows
audiofanaticz Posted November 19, 2014 Report Posted November 19, 2014 well if its brand new that maybe the case. Ive had several issues with them, and wont use them no more. I burned thru about 5 myself and a buddy has went thru 2 or 3 in his car, and 2 in his truck. In my buddies truck and car we are using the axxess knob and it seems to be a bit better, especially with turning easily and freely in the colder weather. But it looks like the same damn shit on the inside when you take them apart from what I remember. But thus far no issues. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_37443_Axxess-AALC.html
DylanBunch Posted November 19, 2014 Author Report Posted November 19, 2014 Yeah the cold weather thing is weird lol I always noticed that. Maybe after playing with it tomorrow I'll pick up the axxess although it seems to be the exactly same thing just different plastic case. Idk well see, they're so cheap it wouldn't hurt to try, thanks for the recommendation 2006 Ford Explorer 2 Team AA/Sundown 15s 6th order Ct Sounds 7k 4 PRV Mr500 8s Rockford p1000-2 Team Subsonic Lows
