Will this be good enough?

dont really understand why voltage drop would be much different at cig lighter and amplifier, it may be a lil different due to the length of wire droppin some voltage but electricity travels very fast u say ur not pullin 250 amps out of ur cig lighter? ur pullin 250 amps out ur ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, which ur amp and cig lighter are hooked to.

At the amp voltage can and will vary more. The length of wire has more resistance and the demand is higher at the amp then at the cig lighter.

singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.

If you use the cigarette lighter it will show you the electrical system voltage for sure. If you are playing full tilt and drop voltage your cigarette lighter will show that.

But what if something happens to the amp or batteries and your amps are only getting 11 volts but the cigarette lighter is still getting 14? If you want to run at 1/2 the recommended impedance you better know what's going on at your amps, not the cigarette lighter.

in what situation would the ciggarette lighter be getting 14 and amps be getting 11? just curious i will be using a volt meter for the first time ever in my build next year

It could be a simple as a loose connection at the amp. It's not an entirely likely situation for sure but I would rather monitor the voltage as close to my amps as possible than monitor the overall voltage of my electrical.

Could be a blown fuse as well.

I know in my car with stock electrical and 0guahe front to back the voltage upfront was dropping down to 12-12.3v. However at the amp it was 11.4-12v.

That was with a 1500.1bdcp and 0guage front to back. Voltage at both points without draw would be the same. Crank it up though and it was different.

Just the WA it works sometimes.

The irony is if you can't afford a second amp to run each at safe impedance you certainly can't afford to repair or replace your amp when you blow it up. All the battery alternator and cable in the world won't make .5 ohm any less stressful on equipment. if it were designed to run at .5 the manufacturer would publish that and warranty it.
