(off topic) nice and neatly hidden between the rear seats and 3rd row, cannot be seen with rear seats up and third row folded down.

DylanBunch Posted December 21, 2014 Report Posted December 21, 2014 Yeah I feel like the airspaces should be switched so the rear chamber is the small chamber, curious to see how it plays 2006 Ford Explorer 2 Team AA/Sundown 15s 6th order Ct Sounds 7k 4 PRV Mr500 8s Rockford p1000-2 Team Subsonic Lows
Courage68 Posted December 21, 2014 Author Report Posted December 21, 2014 Yeah I feel like the airspaces should be switched so the rear chamber is the small chamber, curious to see how it plays i could still do that, just need to put a removable panel/window at the rear so i can slide the sub in backwards. id be willing to give it a try. -edit- just realized it would throw the VAS off due to basket being in the front now , reducing the front vas from .75 to like .58
Triticum Agricolam Posted December 21, 2014 Report Posted December 21, 2014 i could still do that, just need to put a removable panel/window at the rear so i can slide the sub in backwards. id be willing to give it a try. -edit- just realized it would throw the VAS off due to basket being in the front now , reducing the front vas from .75 to like .58 With 6th order BP boxes it can get a little confusing which chamber is the "front" and which is the "rear". The way I always think of it is the "rear" chamber is the lower tuned one, and is usually the larger, the higher tuned chamber is the "front". As far as which one has the motor of the sub, I don't think it makes any difference as long as you account for the volume it takes up. Also VAS isn't the right term for what you are referring to. VAS is not the volume displacement of the sub, or the box it goes in. VAS is a measurement of the compliance of the sub's suspension. If you want a much better definition than I can give, you can read about it here: http://www.eminence.com/support/understanding-loudspeaker-data/ "Nothing prevents people from knowing the truth more than the belief they already know it.""Making bass is easy, making music is the hard part."Builds:
