min Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 this is for a friend, he needs help.. he has a 1600 watt PA amp and two jbl 12s just put 8guage wire on it.. he wants a toggle switch on it so he can turn the amp on and off when his gf is with him so whats weird is u can put a wire between the 12v supply to the rem and it comes on but will not work with the switch They hooked up the switch and they cant turn ON the amp with the switch. sully Posted April 3, 2008 Report Posted April 3, 2008 If it is a lighted switch one of the terminals is for a ground (not used if you don't want it to light up). Use a test light or multimeter to check the rem wire going into the switch to make sure it is getting a 12v signal, if not you have more important issues to fix before worrying about the switch. take a pic if you can so we can see how the switch is hooked up.
