Ahmed Johnson Posted December 17, 2014 Report Posted December 17, 2014 You wasn't thinking budget friendly when you got those subs. Why would you even consider getting a B.S. amp? I would jump on that dc 5k for sale.
Ahmed Johnson Posted December 17, 2014 Report Posted December 17, 2014 a used one Sorry, I meant SQ.. not AQ.. But.. $599.25 http://www.soundqubed.com/Q1-3500D1-Amplifier_p_32.html Holy shit. Didn't know they dropped the price.
Miguels Posted December 17, 2014 Report Posted December 17, 2014 crescendo bc5500.. i have the DC 5k and the crescendo got ridicules.. not saying DC is bad. im not using bass knob on the 5k and that can be a difference i would get the 5k from Kevin or if you want new message cody.. im sure he can work with my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
Broke_Audio_Addict Posted December 17, 2014 Report Posted December 17, 2014 Why not just get another soundqubed 2200 and run both amps at 1ohm, it'll be easier on your electrical and cheaper since you already have 1. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

Swampy Posted December 18, 2014 Author Report Posted December 18, 2014 i decided against the second sq 2200 bc like it says in my original post, I don't want to have to pull those heavy bastards out of the wall just to redo the wiring to get them separated so I can run them at 1 ohm each bc right now the subs are wired together and all four voice coils are wired in parallel to each other. as far as the crescendo 5500, I looked into that and the website says it puts out somewhere right around 6400W RMS @ 1 ohm (14.4V), im thinking my electrical isn't quite up to par to handle that...plus, that is quite a bit over my subs RMS rating so im worried about stepping into the DANGER ZONE. Lastly, im not considering a "junk amp" at all, that's why I posted this to start with...im trying to get some input on some solid contenders as far as heavy hitting amps go without having to do without food for a month hahaha. I cant be the first person that doesn't want to spend 900-1300 dollars on an amp when I can get one that sounds similar for much cheaper. Im not asking for a 5000W max sony explode or something...I was hoping for some interesting ideas haha. I don't claim to know how to solve anything, I just practice the basics. There is nothing worse than wasting hours over a problem that should have taken 5 mins. Anything I post and claim to know, I know simply because of a lesson learned from a mistake on my part.
Swampy Posted December 18, 2014 Author Report Posted December 18, 2014 damn editor deleted half my text haha...anyway I was gonna look again at the crescendo website to check the validity of my info, but my comp takes FOREVER to load webpages...slow connection. its barbaric...
