jview Posted December 28, 2014 Report Posted December 28, 2014 Took a road trip home to Oklahoma City to visit my family for the holidays. It's a 13-14 hour drive. The entire drive im bumping my system about 75-85%. I get home and the amp cuts off I turn the head unit off and on again and it works fine. Yesterday it just completely stopped coming on sub just makes a loud noise and that's it. Today I finally get my trunk open (it's been broken) and I see the input wire had came out. I put it back in and subs makes loud noise and amp is in protect. Trying to figure out what to do next.

jview Posted December 28, 2014 Author Report Posted December 28, 2014 Doesn't make sense since it still buzzes the sub. Would low input voltage have it go into protect?
P4killer_ Posted December 28, 2014 Report Posted December 28, 2014 If the amp goes right into protect, and your sure everything is wired right and you dont have a blown sub, then something is wrong with your amp. I have always been told that its not good to play/power and amp without any input :/ Setup: 2010 Hyundai Elantra Factory Unit via 4 chan NVX LOC Excessive Amperage "H/O" Alt Xs D3400/ Xs XP3000 Big 3. 2 Runs of +, 2 Runs of - DD M3b and 2 12" AQ HDC4s

gally Posted December 28, 2014 Report Posted December 28, 2014 probably a positive one....i bet he didnt unplug the battery so there was some contact bettween the positive cable and the input of the amplifier.. 2010 Chevrolet Cruze Radio --- pioneer mvh-200vbt Front/back --- alpine type s 6.5" Sub Control --- Pac LC1 Sub Amp --- GZPA 1.4K Sub --- GZNW 15XSPL D1 Battery - GZBP 12.2500X
jakmagic Posted December 28, 2014 Report Posted December 28, 2014 My guess is he is talking about an RCA. Anyways I am tuned in to see the outcome of this situation since the m3b is one of the three amps that I am looking at purchasing in the future. I have heard nothing but great things about that amp and my dealer can get me a good deal on one, when I decide to pull the trigger on one. I hope it is just something minor in your case. How long have you had this amp and how does your voltage look when you are hammering on it? 97 Buick LeSabre with stock 140 amp alternator XS Power D3400 (under the hood) using pdb distro blocks Big 3 done with 2/0 ga welding cable Alpine CDE-HD149BT head unit CT Sounds Meso 6.5" components CT Sounds 60.4 CT Sounds 1400.1 Fi Q 12 D2 with cooling in 2.5 net tuned @32 hz (box built by Sound Mekanix Customs) Bunch of Sky High 1/0 ga & 4 ga cable (plus fuse holders) Connection BT2 & BT4 550 (Audison) RCA's Bunch of Mojo Mat
