r.sok Posted December 29, 2014 Author Report Posted December 29, 2014 You might try lowering bands of the EQ rather than raising some. Also avoid the use of the "loud" function, this could be part of the cause. I don't use the loud feature, It was a test to see if it changed the way it sounded, Lowering eq? I like the Vocals & instruments as Accurate & clear sounding as possible, wouldnt this reduce all of that? Or are you saying Bring them all the way to the bottom & copy the same curve as if I was starting at a flat setting? I just ordered New Rockford Rca for same day delivery tomorrow, From my understanding low quality Rca's are more likely to pick up engine noise etc...I don't pick up any engine noise with my current rca's. Would this be a waste of money?
MrSkippyJ Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 Start with your EQ at 0, then reduce what you don't like rather than raising what you do like. Since the problem increases with volume, it's likely the problem is something in the H/U. Miguels Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 could be.. also that deck has 2v pre amps.. could be that the gain is setup too high. even though it dont clip its high enough to get noise.. seen it in one of tony's video my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
STEvil Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 attach ground wire from HU to Amp, see if any change. Loop RCA's and power/ground wires through a ferrite core bead (choke). Each should have its own, loop at least once. You can test each individually with a single choke instead of having to buy 4 or 5 of them for testing. If it doesnt help, its a noisy head unit or amp.. MickyMcD - "Capable of making some serious trouser flapping volumes at where's-my-testicles frequencies, the Servo-Drives used to be fairly jaw dropping..." Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through. Hammerdown... 1% no links to outside websites, business related FB/YT pages allowed.
DTS909 Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 Did you bypass the amp and run the speakers off the hu to see if the hiss is there? r.sok Posted December 29, 2014 Author Report Posted December 29, 2014 I've tried looping the rca's, Tried grounding straight to the amp ground, battery. I have not tried running the speakers from H/U power, That won't give out enough rms to my speakers, I have however tried different amps, Same problem. Unfortunately I use all the bluetooth/Navi functions on the H/U, So Replacing the H/U with a newer one with the Same options is out of the question $600+
Miguels Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 does it do it when you play CD's or wire direct? my brother likes to use the Bluetooth with his phone to listen to music and brings his quality to shit.. if you havent tried cd or quality music on ipod or phone not using bluetooth a recommend you try it first my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
r.sok Posted December 29, 2014 Author Report Posted December 29, 2014 It does it with cd & sd/usb just barely, Am/Fm it doesnt do it at all. Bluetooth music just barely, Bluetooth phone calls is morre prominent than the rest. Think it would be an issue with cheap rca's? I'm using some Rca wwires I had from last year (Bought at autozone... ) They don't induce any alternator whine though
MrSkippyJ Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 Since it increases with volume, I doubt it's an RCA issue F150: Stock 2019 Harley Road Glide: Amp: TM400Xad - 4 channel 400 watt Processor: DSR1 Fairing (Front) 6.5s -MMats PA601cx Lid (Rear) 6x9s - TMS69
Skullz Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 Try and bypass the EQ, try a different H/U, run some new wire to one side and see if you get the hiss. Trouble shooting is a process of elimination and requires you to go through your system one piece at a time to find and isolate the cause of the problem. Never assume anything!!!! You'll only overlook the one thing that might be causing it. Try any and all combinations and you'll find the source of your problem. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
