A friend is loaning me his 18's and amp for this build. I have gutted my trunk an will be attempting to build the box in the car so I can utilize as much space as I can. I will be using the ski port as my box port and I'm plan on facing subs towards rear break lights in bandpass so voice coils facing port. Has anyone ever seen this done have similar builds or designs? I need some help here, I don't want to spend all this time just to be using a sawall to remove a mdf turd. Thanks and I really appreciate all your insight and suggestions.

You can actually build this box in two sections out of the car and connect together in the car. i think its cool. you must utilize most of your trunk to build a proper 4th order enclosure for those subs. I hope you are going to tune relatively low. but you might be tuning for spl wich you wouldnt have to consume that much of the trunk. Tulsajj Posted January 19, 2015 Author Report Posted January 19, 2015 I have been researching and it seems like you need to tune towards around 40hz and that will allow you to reach 20hz to 50hz, although I enjoy SPL I'm more into SQ. Im currently working on the floor and sides of the trunk so I can determine what my actually box volume will be but at this point I'm guessing close to 14cuft. Each subs requirement is 5.5 cuft for a ported enclosure so I'm assuming it may work. Since this is my first build of this type of box, I'm not sure on the design and how much volume to give to the front and rear of each speaker. Does anyone have suggestions?

In that car it will need a lot of glass to get 14 cubes but it's still way to small where do you put amps and batteries etc .

Broke_Audio_Addict Posted January 20, 2015 Report Posted January 20, 2015 The cargo capacity listed for your car is 14 cuft. explain to me how after you stuff all kinds of wood and two 18's in there how you think you will have 14 cubes to work with? That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
