I agree that a HO alt is definitely a good idea. Is it needed on a single 2000W amp? Especially the amperage rating of the alternator you're planning on buying? No, it is not needed. Yes I know what I'm doing for my system, my cars alternator has a recall on it for giving out at any minute and cutting off everything that runs the car (which it did go out on Friday) so I ordered the new one. Theres other things im adding to my setup besides subwoofers and one amp
