What should I upgrade to power a 3500 SAZ?

I am trying to get everything I need in order to start building my system for my suburban. The system is going in a 1994 suburban with no 3rd row. Right now, everything is stock except for a Red Top battery. I want to run a SAZ 3500 (or similar 3500 watt amp) which will be powering two Sundown Audio Z v.2 18's. Going to wire everything down to 1/2 ohm.

What power upgrades am I looking at doing. I know I will have to do the big 3 upgrade. Should I being looking for a 240 amp alternator or higher? Will I need a 2nd battery? Is there any other quality alternators out there that are a little cheaper than the Mechman's and DC's?

I am not sure what power amp I will be getting for the door speakers yet but it will have to be enough to power 6 speakers, maybe two of them being component speakers with tweeters for the front.

I found doing a run of pos/neg from front to back, HO alt, AGM up front and 2 g31s in the back to do the trick when I had a single 3500 and a aq120.4. Also big three.

Ok I will start looking for those AGM batteries. What size alternator would you recommend I look for? Also, iIs there any cheaper brands that provide quality power. I would rather not have to spend $600 for a Mechman or DC.

You want to run your amp at 0.5 Ohm for daily ?

You can get more power to run at 2 Ohms (or 1 if you don't have the sub yet). It would be safer for the amplifier.

Or even 2 smaller amps strapped.

I'm not too confident for 0.5 Ohm ! It will work, but won't last as long as usual IMO.

Don't try to go cheap on the alternator and on the batteries : you will need some of them, at leat 2-3 Group 31 batts in the rear.

Focal ES 100 K in front doors, and Dayton RS 180 for midbass under the front seats.

2 SSA DEMONS 10" subs, in a sealed box. SecondSkin Damplifier on front doors, and Luxury Liner Pro for the cargo area.

the good stuff aint cheap...the cheap stuff aint good. the more planning, research and saving up for the right equipment will be well worth it! a good alt (singer for me) as well as the big three is a must! ive got 2 D3400s just for my saz2500. I would imagine you need to have at least one extra agm batt for bank. don't know enough about super caps to even think about suggesting.

Ok, I am new to some of this so I didn't know better. I thought 1/2 ohm would get me more power to the subs than 2. I already have the subs. They are two Sundown Audio Zv.2 18"s. Here is the specs for them http://www.sundownaudio.com/index.php/products/discontinued/item/z-series-v2.html

What amp would you recommend I look at to get around 1500 watts a piece to each sub at 2 ohms?

I'm running a 275 amp Singer alt with an XS D2700 under the hood. 2 pos and 2 neg runs to an XS D3100 running my SAZ 3500 at 1ohm and I dip to about 13.7 while driving and low 13s, high 12s at idle.
