MACnonsence6 Posted January 25, 2015 Report Posted January 25, 2015 how come in motors they use multiple pieces instead of one large piece I picked up an MTX Sw1212 powered subwoofer today. This thing sounds amazing. 130 watts, 12" woofer with a passive 12" woofer tuned to 27 hz. Moving the pictures on the walls and my girl got wet from the bass when i showed her haha. Tonight should be good haha.

The old Fi BTL ufo motors are a perfect example from using 1 larger slug, to 2 half moon slugs, and than using 4 quarter slugs.
