Shenker
So I put together this diagram and am going to wire my suburban accordingly. As this is the largest install I have done, I just want someone to look over my wiring digram to make sure I'm not going to make an easily avoidable problem. TaylorFade
Looks good to me. Are those "earths" to the amps going to chassis? Or was that simplified for the sake of the drawing? Because I'd ground them to the batt.
Shenker
Was planning on going to chassis, but I can go to battery, it will be right beside it. I only did it that way because my thought was 2 grounds > 1ground. -If its loud, fast, outrageous, or all of the above, chances are i'll think its awesome. -"No way he's OCD." -said none of the people that know me ever. 04' Suburban "Lucifer" A.K.A #Lucii (Under Construction) 4 10s on 4kW in 6cu net @~28hz /////Alpine Crescendo KnuKoncepts Optima SHCA Build Thread 92' JDM 325i "Stella" ~Going for sale to build a 350+hp E30~ Gutted pipes 96,000 OG KM's (59,000 mi) -System Removed- 1 10 on 1kW 89' Gen 3 Honda Prelude SI AWS "Odis" Bone Stock Possibly going to stance it
Skater229
One thing I see as an issue is the 300a fuses on the front to back cables... You should fuse for the size on the wire run not just put a fuse there... As in the length of cable might only be able to carry 200 amps, then you would fuse just below that so the fuse will blow and not just sit there.... 2010 Chevy HHR Panel (Work in progress) Pioneer AVHX-5800BHS McLaren MLM880's and MLT2's 2ea per door on a DC 175.4 Two DC Audio M4 Level 5 15's On A DC5K Alt CES 200/270+ 4ea Banks of Maxwell 2.7v 3000f caps for a total of 2000f 1ea XS 3100 and 2ea NSB FT170 Batts for 450+ah Not a HUGE build but here it is... Shenker
Good point, is there a way calculate it, it's knuconcepts flex cable, and sky high for grounds. Not sure how long exactly the length will be yet, my best guess is roughly 17ft runs. -If its loud, fast, outrageous, or all of the above, chances are i'll think its awesome. -"No way he's OCD." -said none of the people that know me ever. 04' Suburban "Lucifer" A.K.A #Lucii (Under Construction) 4 10s on 4kW in 6cu net @~28hz /////Alpine Crescendo KnuKoncepts Optima SHCA Build Thread 92' JDM 325i "Stella" ~Going for sale to build a 350+hp E30~ Gutted pipes 96,000 OG KM's (59,000 mi) -System Removed- 1 10 on 1kW 89' Gen 3 Honda Prelude SI AWS "Odis" Bone Stock Possibly going to stance it

rockFord_Expedition
Looks fine. I would double check fuse size though. Old School/New School RF Build March 2015 SOTM Winner How to crimp large wire
Shenker
This thread is a bit old now, but I just wanted to post my final numbers, based on the calculator provided (thanks "Neverknowsbest" a good link right there.) @18' runs there will be 4 250a fuses in place of the 4 300a fuses during my 1/0 runs, sound resonable? amps will also be grounded to the rear battery vs chassis (Thanks TaylorFade). Both batteries will be brand new Yellowtops because XS is impossible to get in Canada, sound like I should be set to start running some cable? -If its loud, fast, outrageous, or all of the above, chances are i'll think its awesome. -"No way he's OCD." -said none of the people that know me ever. 04' Suburban "Lucifer" A.K.A #Lucii (Under Construction) 4 10s on 4kW in 6cu net @~28hz /////Alpine Crescendo KnuKoncepts Optima SHCA Build Thread 92' JDM 325i "Stella" ~Going for sale to build a 350+hp E30~ Gutted pipes 96,000 OG KM's (59,000 mi) -System Removed- 1 10 on 1kW 89' Gen 3 Honda Prelude SI AWS "Odis" Bone Stock Possibly going to stance it
Broke_Audio_Addict
250 amp fuses are still too big, you want to fuse for your current demands as long as it does not exceed your wires rating. The smaller the better. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
