aculous Posted February 9, 2015 Report Posted February 9, 2015 https://web.archive.org/web/20130601145154/http://stereointegrity.com/index.php?id=60 T/S parameters for the Stereo Integrity 15" D2 sub What do you guys think? Is a 20hz tunning way to low? should I change up the design? Constricting factors are Used in the calculator since it cut it off... W- 30 L-20 H-22 Max: Width- 38 Length- 38 Height- 22 (ish...could go higher but would rather not because its about 4-5 inches from the headliner) I am looking for a simple ported enclosure with a aero port. If there is a different type of design that would be more efficient ON MUSIC then let me know. I could give two fucks about the meter.
Triticum Agricolam Posted February 9, 2015 Report Posted February 9, 2015 One 3" aero port? No bueno. "Nothing prevents people from knowing the truth more than the belief they already know it.""Making bass is easy, making music is the hard part."Builds:

Miguels Posted February 9, 2015 Report Posted February 9, 2015 i was going to do 3 6' aero on a single sp4 my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
aculous Posted February 9, 2015 Author Report Posted February 9, 2015 i was going to do 3 6' aero on a single sp4 wow, ok. Is that to cut down on port noise or am i missing a mistake i am making in torres.
Triticum Agricolam Posted February 9, 2015 Report Posted February 9, 2015 Depending on how much power you are going to run you could get away with a single 6" or even two 4" aero ports. Port noise and compression are what you are trying to avoid with more port area. Also, there is nothing wrong with tuning to 20 Hz if sound quality is more what you are focused on. You will be leaving some SPL performance on the table though. I'd probably shoot for more around 4 cubes net airspace too. For power i am only putting 600w rms to tge sub so nothing crazy
Joe X Posted February 9, 2015 Report Posted February 9, 2015 To understand the advise you are given do some modeling yourself, it's a decent company and they provide the necessary infos to make reasonably correct use of your sub.

Well I am using Stereo Integrity's recommendations for volume and running freq. so I am not throwing that to the wind. And no I have not done much modeling yet obviously. Would winisd be the program that would be best for modeling different ports for this size enclosure.
