S15_Silvia Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 Maybe a couple banks of 12-13 series-connected 16V batteries, in parallel? Or some other series combination to get 192-204V. I guess you're limited by vehicle size at that point... 2016 Subaru BRZ | Sony XAV-AX100 | Rockford Fosgate DSM 4080 & DSM 40ix | On 6/6/2012 at 6:32 PM, 'LZTYBRN' said: 3. SnowDrifter Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 It's one of those amps that's all output. It skips the power supply side that would normally require the amp to step up the 12v power to whatever the amp needs and just has you feed it that voltage directly ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
aculous Posted February 16, 2015 Author Report Posted February 16, 2015 yea I am still researching amperage and current draw. Because if you look at these other amps from banda (7k 12v) its 500amps on music. Now with a battery bank that has batteries that can output 3000 amps a piece, what would be the minimum alternator size you would want to charge them? also i know this is probably a simple question so i have no problem researching myself, a point in the right direction would be helpful though.
TRON Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 Yeah so you'd need something like 16 12v batteries all in series but how the fuck would you charge them? Unhook them all and individually charge them or you'd need a 200v battery charger. Also, It would look so odd being as small as it is, hooked up to 16 batteries in the back of a walled off SUV.
