islandpride684
Talk about a tight fit, you know they make those gauge reducers...I would disconnect them shits ASAP...your power wire and ground wire are probably making out here and there... diegoclass2010
i had some jl audio amps that did the same thing, but it was my fault at the time, i was using 8 gauge wire and it would get too hot, but usually the real problem was my ground. i would never ground it correctly, meaning i would not use a bolt with a ring terminal or sand down the paint. i say check your ground, and get some 1/0 to 4 gauge reducers, that should fix it
Flip_one
So you guys think the reducers will fix the problem? I dont want to spend money on them and the wire will keep melting
Flip_one
I have a good ground for sure, I have a bolt and a nut and the paint sanded down.

diegoclass2010
if your positive on that. how tight is that screw that holds wire at the jl audio amp?/ reducers will just help so you know you have a good connection and its not touching one another . but if its tight already it wont really do nothing
Flip_one
I just ordered a pair of Stinger 0-4ga reducers, hopefully that fixes it
