What do you think you can budget for an amp. It appears you need an amp that can do 2k RMS to push your woofers affectively. Which I'm sure your current amp is more than pushing woofers enought to compete in the 129.9 class. I assume your looking at amp already and a budget for it. Between all who is in the thread I know we can pull something together for 2K watts. Any one of us here has put an amp in and out at a show. Hell Alpine and I went through I don't know how many fucking boxes last year at one show. So if we can find you an amp by the show and do the transaction there would be ideal for you. Sidenote. Being real bro. I don't think you should borrow anyones equipment yet. If you ever do of course. Your still learning and the last thing you want to do is get back in to a hole by damaging or blowing up someones elses equipment. I guess its the rookie factor. Personally I like the fact your trying to learn and you want to compete. Your curious and willing to ask question and seem to be soaking in a lot of information. I assume your set on it.... Is it possible than someone local mighthave that amp for sale? what I often tell people. is make sure when purchasing car audio equipment that you keep it so your able to expand. saying that, you plan on running one or two amps? Another trick you can do. is pick up one now to be out for the show and get your feet wet and then pick up another amp later. Now you have dual 2's so I'd wire them down to 1ohm and then at the amp wire the subs together in series to bring it back up to 2 ohm but then to burp re-wire it down to .5ohm and burp. I might do this Sunday. Its just so you pull the most out of your amp. Then when you got more money buy the second amp and be cool all day. Just an idea.
