Been mia, but Gah dam these are some beautiful updates!! That dash came out sexy!! Do you plan to SEM paint it? (sorry if that was discussed already).. And relocating ftw.. all in the name of audio lol

It's all good. Been alot going on. Funny thing, I thought I'd get by with this Rustoleum shit, but I don't like it. So I'm kind of back to sanding it all down and I'll most likely get some SEM paint yes. I have to figure out what I'm going to do because now I have to paint the whole dash, and I want to have it two toned again, but I'm not sure on the hydrodip yet. The company here in town never got back to me, so I'll have to explore that. These dashes aren't exactly black, more of a charcoal color, so I need to see how to match it. But I don't want glossy either. More of a flat instead of matte. Make sense? Yeah me either.

Good stuff man. U dumped just 1 can of foam in your box right? Sound/Pressure wise, does it hit even harder on the higher notes?

Not even a full can. It was big gap fill foam and I bet I only used about 3/4 of the can. I just tossed it cause it wouldn't stop spitting and I have 2 more cans.

I haven't listened to it too much. Just a bit. But I'd say it does better with lower notes. I played a few hip hop songs I know that get low, and then back to my trusty Dave Matthews Band which I go to because I know it's sounds so well. It seemed lacking in that area. Lot of bass guitar in that, and it seemed like it was missing.

So I'm wondering since I shrunk the enclosure and didn't shorten the port, if I just tuned it way lower and that's why. I should've made it tuneable somehow. I don't know how I'd have done that though.

I have to play with it more. I'm going to try and get my hands on an SMD IM-SG and see what I come up with.

I'd like to get it at .75-.80 and tune it around 45hz on the new design. I just have to really play with the numbers because I seem to get lost on it.

Thank you. It's a bit easier to dive in when it's anot extra dash piece. I mean, if it doesn't work out, it's still $100 out the door, but I still have a dash to fall back on. And don't misunderstand, I've spent many a night laying awake trying to figure out how I'm going to make all of this work, and not look like some ghetto candy painted looking finish.

That's a lot of why I wanted to keep the body likes so badly. But it just wasn't meant to be on this one. It's very possible I may do another run down the line, but I want to make sure I have it all working the way I want before that happens.

It really worked out well for me. My thinking was, if I did too much, went over the target space I was aiming for, I could easily cut some out or sand some out. But I don't hear it at all which was another concern. I thought maybe it would cause vibration issues, or so.etching along those lines and it didnt. I'd say go for it. It's a cheap easy way of testing, and if it doesn't work out, you can cut it out and you're back to square one with the same slate you started with.

So, nothing got done this weekend.

Friday night I finally sold the Beast 350. So I watched her drive away, which was bitter sweet. But I know the new owner will treat her right.

Thought I was going to pay my credit cards off so I could get moving with other parts of the build, but it looks like uncle Sam is going to have his way with my ass for taxes. My wife did our taxes and we owe for the first time in forever. So there goes 2/3 of that money.

Anyway, then Saturday we were out of town all day, and Sunday I spent in the yard.

I'm really trying to find the motivation to get back in the shop and get working. It's been tough to say the least. I think I've got too much going on at once.

Oh well. I'll get back to it sometime this week. Lots of filling, sanding, priming, sanding, filling, and more sanding. The not at all fun part of this.

Well, I know it's been kind of dead in here lately. I've been haulted a bit on the build. Life gets in the way sometimes.

Today, however, was an expensive day

So I went on a camping trip last weekend towing my 32' TT, and was all over the place. I almost ran into 2 cars and a semi on the trip. So, I said it was time to take drastic measures to stop the wandering. At the same time I'm over the 6" lift, so I decided to go up 2 more inches.

Red Head Steering Gearbox (No brainer upgrade which was already on the list)

Audio Wise, I bought a box of Sky High Car Audio Acoustical Foam Pad, DC Audio XL10 Dual 2 ohm sub, and an XS Power Intellicharger.

Not thrilled with the Ampere 10, so I'm going with the xl10 instead. I'll use the Ampere in my shop.

Combine that with the glow plugs and harnesses, plus fuel filters sitting in the garage to put in, I HAVE LOTS OF WORK AHEAD OF ME!!!

I'll be getting back on the dash and control panel here soon. Life is slowing down a little bit.
