LsChevy Posted May 13, 2015 Author Report Posted May 13, 2015 any particular reason you are considering running 2 different sizes? Not really..I just want to try it and see if I like it
White Lightning Posted May 13, 2015 Report Posted May 13, 2015 I'd go 5 1/4 for midrange and 8" for midbass dutys Absolutely Kenwood / HELIX / Linear Power (For The Love Of Music) / Brutal Sounds / OverKill Electric Co Questions About Sound Quality ?? LsChevy Posted May 13, 2015 Author Report Posted May 13, 2015 Just curious to what makes the 5 1/4 a better option than the 6.5?
john253a Posted May 13, 2015 Report Posted May 13, 2015 That eq is fine for running some comps or coaxel, But not anything active, you'll have to either run passive, find a better eq, or an amp with a bandpass option, Personal idd look for a better eq
john253a Posted May 13, 2015 Report Posted May 13, 2015 Just curious to what makes the 5 1/4 a better option than the 6.5?If running an 8" the 5-1/4 for upper mid is a good option Just all depends on what u want to achive
notorious97200 Posted May 13, 2015 Report Posted May 13, 2015 2 6.5" and tweeter per door is an easier solution. You would need a 4 ch amp only. black BMW X1 2.0 l 192 hp OEM head unit, Amplifiers : Audison AP 8.9 with integrated DSP and Ampere Audio 1200. Focal ES 100 K in front doors, and Dayton RS 180 for midbass under the front seats. 2 SSA DEMONS 10" subs, in a sealed box. SecondSkin Damplifier on front doors, and Luxury Liner Pro for the cargo area.
john253a Posted May 13, 2015 Report Posted May 13, 2015 With the eq he has he'll need to get crossovers to do that unless he runs a 3way comp set or 2 2ways with biamping and leaves the second tweeter out Only other way is something like the rf pp4x or pp8x crossover
LsChevy Posted May 13, 2015 Author Report Posted May 13, 2015 I think everyone run their tweeters off head unit power..idk how I'm going to do that using a tablet
White Lightning Posted May 13, 2015 Report Posted May 13, 2015 Just curious to what makes the 5 1/4 a better option than the 6.5? You want midrange out of that driver ... not midbass. Correct ??? I think everyone run their tweeters off head unit power..idk how I'm going to do that using a tabletTo make everything sound balanced, the really need to be run on amplifier power ...
