Alright, I was driving home from school when my speaker wire ripped out of my box and shorted out. Protection light went on and I hit the switch to kill the system.

When I got home I reconnected everything and it was barely hitting. I figured I fried the amp so I picked up another West Coast Customs 1600w 4 channel and it was doing the same thing. I borrowed my buddy's old subs and still doing it. I had a pioneer head unit so I swapped it out for the Sony in my Integra and it's still doing it.

It has 0 power at all unless you bring the gain to max. It is incredibly distorted. My only thing I can think of is that some way some how I fucked the RCA cable. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Pull out a multi-meter and measure the resistance of every coil on the subs.

You could have blown them.

Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist?

I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . .

What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself

but what has drawn your attention

in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums

An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space

Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears,

thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.

I thought I did originally, but I swapped them out for my buddys old kickers which I pulled out for him. They were working fine when pulled out. He only got rid of them because he stepped up to JL's

check every single connection

Check RCA's

Check polarity

double, even triple check these things. we overlook a lot of shit.

EDIT also, replace speaker wire

I'm going to run out now and change out the speaker wires.

As was said, pull each sub out of the box and meter each coil. Then ensure you don't have the subs out of phase with each other. That doesn't necessarily mean the same thing as polarity. Don't know what subs you have and how they're wired to present the amp with what load.

And a 4-channel to run the subs huh.....

You should secure the box and amp while you have everything apart.
