Jessica
So while building my wedge box i was forced to leave my table saw set to the angle i needed because of course if i put it back to 90° and tried to go back to the exact angle i was at before would be "close" at the best. So i went and googled angle finders and then thought to myself, "there must be an app for this right?" And yep, there is, i downloaded "clinometer" off the google play store. Now, i havent had a chance to actually put it to the test to see how repeatable it is but if you guys are looking for something you could try this, lay it against the table saw blade and adjust till you hit the angle you need. If anyone want to test it out please rport it in here and let me know what you think here is a screenshot. Rest in peace, walled 87 accord build log 03' Corolla build with AA Mayhem inside. Triticum Agricolam
I got one of these for $20 and it works really well. http://www.amazon.com/AccuRemote-Digital-Electronic-Magnetic-Protractor/dp/B006JR8XBG Its hard to beat free though, I'll have to grab that app and compare the results. Thats what I have as well, tested against a phone app before, app doesn't get accurate results. The gyro might be accurate but if the side of your phone is not completely flat... no dice. -Mark Host of "CarAudioFabrication" - YouTube Car Audio Tutorial Channel Check out my forum section here on SMD for my builds and tutorial videos! tboorn
i downloaded and used this app over the weekend to find some hard angles with my circular saw jig, it worked perfectly for me, and was really easy, has all kinds of levels and angle finders, definitely a big help. For example the backseat of a car has a angle and you want the box flush with the angle of the seat its behind. With this you can get the right angle? audiofanaticz
What works easier is put a vertical board making sure its level vertically having it touching the top of the seat (or angle your trying to match) and then measure the distance between the bottom of the vertical board and the bottom of the rear seat. When you cut your piece make a mark on your wood half of what you measured inside the vehicle and draw a straight line, then mark on the bottom the same distance as you measured. Not sure if I explained it the best but its simple to do.
audiofanaticz
Otherwise these things work great for just that as well http://www.walmart.com/ip/21696293?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=3&adid=22222222227016799714&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=51804121631&wl4=&wl5=pla&wl6=83206350791&veh=sem I have a cheaper Toolshop branded one that seems to work just as well and was like 1/3 the cost. audiofanaticz
I think one of these videos talks about how to measure like I was trying to explain and no angle finding device needed.
