Broke_Audio_Addict
Which version did you get? I noticed they have 3 or 4 different ones. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals. gckless
Which version did you get? I noticed they have 3 or 4 different ones. I didn't realize they had that many different versions. I only knew about the silver and black, and I heard the silver was a tiny bit thicker, so I went with that. Here's exactly what I got, the deadener anyway. http://www.amazon.com/Noico-Self-adhesive-Deadening-Automotive-Insulation/dp/B00URUIKAK aww shit new whip!!!!! lookin very clean. those impalas are serious rattle traps, especially the trunk. make sure you deaden the shit out of it lol. Nah, this guy isn't on the forums. Plus, it's only a couple of low powered Kickers. Which says even more about the trunk lol. But thanks man, trying to make this good this time, want to keep it for a while. "Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. tboorn
ive used the noico 80mil before. i have 50sqft in my 4runner currently. Its decent deadener, its not asphalt so thats good. doesn't smell bad, i installed it with a heat gun and the adhesive has worked well. although i only used it on my floor mainly so no chances of falling off. The "design" on it is just a pressed pattern and once you put it on and properly roll it, it becomes flat/smooth. Overall its just decent deadener though, i ordered some buzzmatt from amazon that i found for a steal and there was a noticeable difference in structural strength. best way i could describe it is if you held a piece of noico parallel with the ground, and only held one edge, it would fold on itself pretty fast. Same test with the Buzzmatt and it would hold its form and stick out for a while before starting to bend down toward the ground. hope that makes sense. gckless
So I need a little help. I don't know how to design this amp rack. What I want is basically this (just pay attention to the amps, not subs): I'm going to be building a box to hold the amps, and then the rear board (towards the trunk, so what you see) will also be a beauty panel and be wider than the rest of the amp box. I wanted to mount the amps to the rear board so that the guts are visible. More I think about it the more I don't think that's possible though. I don't know how to secure the beauty panel to where it's removable, so that I can get to the amps, and still have a clean look on the outside. It's going to be 1/2" plywood, so I don't trust magnets to hold that on there if the amps are mounted to it. Actually, just thought of this while I was typing, maybe I can do hinges on the bottom so it folds out/down, then magnets all along the sides and top. Could be those cupboard magnetic latches (like this: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Liberty-White-Heavy-Duty-Magnetic-Catch-with-Strike-C080X0C-W-P/100149442). But then I wouldn't be able to mount the amps to the rear board, I would have to mount them to the opposite side (towards the front of the car), and then would only be able to display the top/chassis. gckless
Well I've been really thinking about it, and I'm just going to live with brass screws/hardware. They don't look all that bad in stained wood. I looked at linear actuators, all kinds of cabinet latches, door poppers, a bunch of things, but nothing inexpensive that I was comfortable with. Not going to try to describe it, but trust me that I think it will look good. Bought PVC end caps and a hole saw today for my tweeters, turns out I was off by an 1/8" when I eyeballed the tweeter hole size. Will be making another purchase tomorrow. ToNasty
I like the brass look. It's what I'll be doing most likely on stained box ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers

I like to have my stuff as clean as possible, but I'm cool with brass hardware. And I've done stain on almost all my builds, and not stopping now. "Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. gckless
Got the correct size hole saw, and bought another pair of PVC end caps. Drilled them out, should be pretty decent for mounting on the sail panels: Going to have to cut them and aim them correctly on the sail panels, and then body filler some curves in. Was going to do fiberglass, but man do I hate working with that stuff. Need to find where to buy Rage Gold besides Amazon for decently cheap. "Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now.
