i would take a 250a hairpin over a 370a alt any day of the week.. only way i run the 370a is if im only running a single alt or the demand is too much.. that 250-270a hairpin is a tank on idle speeds

I dont demo at idle, many others dont either it seems.
I have a throttle in the truck for the past 7ish years.

If Im actually listening to the stereo, Im not cruising through the city streets at 157.5 + db, but if it is up a little bit all I got to do is drop the transmission into 3rd gear for some extra rpms.
Not like the hit to the gas mileage doing that will hurt my mpg any more than the wall.. lol

Me and many others would rather have the increased 100+amps of output at 2krpm, then have 25-50 more amps at idle.

yeah ill have to tell him that when he gives it to me free

not that i was being a smart ass.. just saying if you plan on a dual kit get a 250a to go with the 370a alternator

Exactly the Reason I'll be running dual 250s.

Besides both of Mechmans elite 250 and 370 amp alternators are claiming 200+ amps at idle. So going with a smaller size alternator to have more idle output seems pointless

you do know they are rated cold right? once the 370a heats up it puts out less than the 250a.. the smaller alt runs cooler and has larger pulley that makes it spin less.. 250a alt is a must for high perf. cars that see 6k rpm on the track or occasional passing on the highways

i own the 370a elite but i accept that its not always the best option..
