Aaron Tuck TBA
18 is the absolute max height I can fit. I trimmed a small lip off the front opening so I'm allowed to slide the box in. This will be the second box I've built a 18 high. 2000 Cavalier 4 doorXS D925XS D2400XS D31004 runs of 1/0 Mechman 270 2 DD 9515js

Aaron Tuck TBA
You have to remove the springs bars that hold up the trunk lid. Which is just fine by me. 2000 Cavalier 4 doorXS D925XS D2400XS D31004 runs of 1/0 Mechman 270 2 DD 9515js
SnowDrifter
I was thinking the box might be a hair on the small side but that's just me ~3.2cuft per sub. EhhI might try thinning out your baffle to 2 layers and see where that gets you. The way your box is designed, the center port will act as a huge brace for the top, bottom, and baffle ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
Aaron Tuck TBA
my dealer had recommended 3-3.5 per driver for a more spl based daily box. Ill be pushing them with around 8-9k daily. i always thought for the most part go a little bit smaller on airspace for better control at higher power levels. If that not correct? Also i was told the thicker baffle help focus the rearward sound wave. there has to be a reason big spl guys build thick baffles.... 2000 Cavalier 4 doorXS D925XS D2400XS D31004 runs of 1/0 Mechman 270 2 DD 9515js

SnowDrifter
I had always been under the impression that they like larger boxes, but if your dealer suggested that I'd think they would know better ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
gckless
I'm no designer, but don't DD like tons of port area? Like, tons? I wouldn't trade port area for box space here though, you're already on the small side. 3 net per sounds awfully small. "Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now.
