Bam Bam
I have 10-8 inch and 6-10 inch PRV audio speakers. I have Taramps HD8000 2ohm running all 16 speakers. My question is will I get better performance from all 16 speakers if I separate the 8's and 10's to different amps? It does get reasonable but in my opinion I have heard smaller systems get louder with less power. 6 Funky Pup 12's
MrSkippyJ
Isn't that a mono amp? MrSkippyJ
I would start with 2 channels. That had to be making it sound worse than whatever else you have heard. Bam Bam
I heard other systems with less speakers running Taramps that sound louder to me. I wouldn't think it would be the number of channels. I have all speakers wired to parallel on both sides of the vehicle and I run it in series into the amp giving me about a 2 ohm loud. Only one set of cables running into the mono block amp. 6 Funky Pup 12's
RooTxBeeR
The reason they probably sounded louder was because of the stereo effect. You where playing every single speaker off of the same channel. You need to do Left and Right. _paralyzed_
Separating left and right would not make it louder. It would only improve stereo imaging.
_paralyzed_
In fact, summing the channels as done on a mono amp could make it louder, because now sounds that would only be played on the left/right channel are now played on both channels. Broke_Audio_Addict
I don't see how all that pro audio on 8k could not be loud enough for anyone. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
