Setting gain for a desired wattage.

Getting a zapco z-3kd soon. Currently running a rockford t1500 at a ct sounds meso 15 in 3.25 cubes tuned at 29hz. Outside of watching the woofer as you increase the gain, is there a way you can set the gain to a desired or even estimate wattage (if i only wanted to push 2200-2300 rms at 1 ohm)? I've heard the dmm method is flawed.

setting by votlage isnt perfect and for most it's not accurate. Can it be done, yes. Do I recommend everyone try it, no. there are many links on the interwebs about setting by voltage. there are several threads on this forum also.

i've read through alot of those and the end result I typically see is the consensus that it is inaccurate. I wasn't sure if anyone had any other ideas

If you have a dd1. Use track 3 and be done with it

do you think a meso will handle 3000 rms?

I'll give it a shot. Running a 180 amp singer alt. 45 ah interstate up front, d975 in the back. Getting a xp3000 to go in the back before the new amp goes in too.

with this tool you can actually see the real rms wattage your amplifier is putting out.

but just like the Term-lab which breaks peoples hearts by telling the user their system is not as loud as they expected the same can be said with the amm-1 and people buying a 3000wrms amp hooking it up and finding out they are getting drastically less power due to things like impedance rise voltage drop.
