Cameron7007
Hey everybody, new here and I finally found some time to start this log. A little bit of warning, this will be an long drawn out log with mildly frequent updates (hopefully a couple per month). Being in college, I don't have all the money in the world like some of you. I won't go into detail about everything about the jeep or why I picked everything I did so far, but let's just say that I'm just now getting into car audio. Vehicle: 1995 Jeep Cherokee At the time of purchase, anything audio wise was stock 1995 stuff. As of 9/29 here she sits: Head unit: Sony MEX-N5000BT Speakers: Kicker DS 525 (front) Kicker CS 65 (rear) Subwoofer: Kicker Comp S 12 Single Voice Coil 4 ohm Amp: Kicker DX250.1 Amp was swapped with a friends Audiophonics ADF-241 recently Now, i know it says Kenwood, but i coundl't find anything about a Kenwood ADF-241, so its definitely an audiophonics amp. Box: Garage built, ~1 ft^3 Update: got some pics uploaded. currently relocating some door speakers. I'll post up when one side is done. Thanks! Cameron7007
Ok, I relocated both front door speakers to the kick panels. I ran out of carpet. So until i get more, this is how the passenger side is staying. Time to paint some LED strip black to hide it better. So, the LED strip didnt work out as planned. I"ll have to get a lower voltage strip to get it to work. 12v is a little much. I'm going to try to relocate the speakers in the sound bar, or just try to change the way they face. They currently fire straight at the floor, so maybe I can get them to fire toward the front of the jeep. We"ll see. Thanks for checkin this out! yurvalentine
Don't think I've ever seen kicks done like that, but hell they look solid
Cameron7007
Thanks guys! It's amazing how much the overall sound of the front speakers has changed. I'll probably upgrade them to a set of components when I get a chance. I could've bought a set of kick panels, but I wasn't gonna spend $200 for them. boom50cal
if you get the chance to throw an amp on those Kicker DS coax's, they waken up quite a bit. Had a set of DS65's in my 96 c1500, a "40x2" oldschool Rockford made them a lot nicer to listen to. Any budget 50x2 amp would do nice on them. Cameron7007
Got a small update for you guys. I got some carpet on the passenger side kick, and I figured out what i can do with some of those LED's. And i got my 50" light bar wired up and it's pretty bright. Onto the pics! Now onto the light bar I know there looks like theres alot of glare on the hood, but inside its not noticeable. From here, the black wire runs under the dash into my switch area that i might post a picture of later. Working on painting the rest of my interior trim pieces from old nasty grey to black. Looks a lot cleaner imo. if you get the chance to throw an amp on those Kicker DS coax's, they waken up quite a bit. It's a little dusty, but i dont think we're gonna use it any time soon. As always, thanks for checkin it out, more to come soon!
