Wasteland_Audio Posted October 19, 2015 Report Posted October 19, 2015 So i'll be installing a couple amps here soon and i need to know how to set the gains properly so i don't fry the amps/subs. I'll be running a pair of Audiopipe APK-4500's to a pair of DC Lv6m2's. I've never run a dual amp/sub combo before and am not sure how to set them properly to make them as loud as possible without clipping. Honestly I didn't really know what clipping was until i started reading up on systems here at SMD, i always thought it meant the sub was bottoming/topping out. Basically what i'm saying here is i have no idea what i'm doing when it comes to tuning an amp, please help.
Ahmed Johnson Posted October 19, 2015 Report Posted October 19, 2015 First off, LOL!!! No one can hear what you hear so you won't really be getting a good answer on how to tune with your ear. You probably should just go for what sounds good to you.

It's a good tool to own. I've set so many gains with mine, it's hard to put a value on a tool that good. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
tyma1026 Posted October 19, 2015 Report Posted October 19, 2015 I forget the name of the page but there is a smd tool map. You can search for that and see if someone close to your location has a dd1.
