akuma4u Posted November 5, 2015 Report Posted November 5, 2015 i have 2 JL w3v3s running off a hifonics x1500 1100rms @ 2ohms,,.. it sounds decent but im still left wanting more.. i know hifonics are good budget amps but not the best... is it worth shelling out 600 or so to get a better quality amp? would it make a huge difference in the bass quality/loudness/impact? trying to avoid a situation where i do end up paying a lot of money on a good amp only to find it delivers almost the same quality of bass that the hifonics does.. anyone with advice?
notorious97200 Posted November 5, 2015 Report Posted November 5, 2015 keep your amplifier. black BMW X1 2.0 l 192 hp OEM head unit, Amplifiers : Audison AP 8.9 with integrated DSP and Ampere Audio 1200. Focal ES 100 K in front doors, and Dayton RS 180 for midbass under the front seats. 2 SSA DEMONS 10" subs, in a sealed box. SecondSkin Damplifier on front doors, and Luxury Liner Pro for the cargo area.
Wehan Posted November 5, 2015 Report Posted November 5, 2015 The biggest thing you might notice is your electrical will like you more, hifonics are known to be power hogs. I would upgrade simply for this reason if I was in this situation.
Guest Posted November 5, 2015 Report Posted November 5, 2015 you want more cause thats what happens lol time to double your subs and power
Wasteland_Audio Posted November 5, 2015 Report Posted November 5, 2015 I just got 2 DC lv6 18's installed a couple weeks ago and today i already caught myself looking back there and thinking "2 more of these would fit back here i bet" lol, it happens to all of us and it never stops.
Miguels Posted November 5, 2015 Report Posted November 5, 2015 T1500 bdcp Upgrading is worth it but depends on the amp. That Hifonics does not do 1100@ 2 ohms and one that will be expensive. You need a 2500 amp so it will be on the 1100@ 2 ohms. but in reality you won't hear the difference well maybe in quality and your electrical but it won't change much my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
