Mr DeeBeez
I have 35w hid head lights that I got from theretrofitsource.com and now want to get the projector headlight assembly. I was browsing the Internet and came across these halo projector headlights on eBay. Seem to be pretty nice for the price. http://m.ebay.com/itm/98-04-CHEVY-S10-BLAZER-HALO-LED-PROJECTOR-HEADLIGHTS-BLACK-BUMPER-SIGNAL-LIGHTS-/191381536519?nav=SEARCH I was talking with a friend and he said that you can't put hid bulbs in projector housings because it will melt and start on fire because the bulb gets too hot? I always thought hid's were supposed to go in projectors. I guess my question is: will these projector headlights work with the hid bulbs that I have? And are they easy to install? Just twist the bulb in? Thank you for any advice!! Moreno93
HID's go in projectors. Those headlights seem to be the china made headlights though if you get them make sure you seal them up real good and hope for the best
jk13
HIDs go in HID approved housings. Projector or reflector does not matter, as they can both be HID approved, or not. Spray pattern is what matters. My Infiniti with factory HIDs has traditional reflector-type low beams for the HIDs and projectors for the non-HID high beams. As far as melting that particular housing I couldn't tell you. Static drops are my bag.
Mr DeeBeez
Thank you for the replies. I guess what I'm asking is with the projector housing I linked above, will the hid bulb I have just twist in place like it does to the factory housing? Or do I have to modify it? I can't find where it says if the bulb will just fit in, or if a certain bulb type is needed. My first time dealing with projectors, so I want it to go smoothly.
