LoudPackRacing Posted December 3, 2015 Report Posted December 3, 2015 I have an 2003 civic coupe and am about to redo my entire car. The only thing that will stay the same is my pioneer double din. My question is what exactly do I need to have a sound quality car? I have a Rockford 360.3 and kicker amps and a 15" Fi SSD on the way.
Soccerballzs Posted December 3, 2015 Report Posted December 3, 2015 Good set of midbass, mid range and silk tweeters. Watch some of the spl woofers sound terrible for sql. Good luck with the 3 sixty 3. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/garage/vehicle/2438-jeep-commander/I Pioneer P99RSAmpere 38002-Ampere 125/44-6.5 inch Hertz HSK XL Mids4-8 inch JL Audio ZR Midwoofer 2-5.25 Satori Mids2-Morel Tweeters, 2 Hertz Milles 3 inch on A pillars2-Hertz Silk tweeters DC Audio Level 5/12 Skyhigh Wire Mechman 320 XS Power D3100MO Funniest Thread of the Year 2013: http://www.stevemead...dy-being-a-pos/

jk13 Posted December 3, 2015 Report Posted December 3, 2015 Solid front stage, lots of time spent testing and tuning placement and angling of speakers, lots of time modifying small things like reflective surfaces vs. absorbent, getting your crossover and adjustment points just right, etc. I agree less is more. Meaning get a hundred little things like these right to begin with ^^ and you'll have to do less with the 360.3 to fix issues. Pure sound vs. digitally processed. Static drops are my bag.

I was planning to buy some hertz 3 way components or should I just get some 2 ways and buy separate midbass woofers?
gckless Posted December 3, 2015 Report Posted December 3, 2015 Before you buy anything, you should be doing more research. I guess it depends on what level of SQ you're going for here, but you should know what you're doing before you buy anything. It's less about equipment and more about utilizing each piece properly. "Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. It's like witchcraft... it automatically explains just about everything people don't understand. I would also look at raw drivers, such as midbass and tweeters sold separately so you can run active. A poorly installed 3 way set can sound worse than a properly installed 2 way set. And vice versa. Figure out what fits where you think it might sound the best (roughly) and see what you have room for. I don't know your skill level, but if you don't have the skills or aren't going to pay someone to help with a solution on that midrange once you find out it's optimum placement, might be better to skip it than cram it somewhere that it will harm more than help. If you do have the skills or help with it, they can really take some stress off the rest of the front stage and help it come to life. Usually work best mounted as close to tweeter as possible. Static drops are my bag.

Well I've been into car audio about 4 years just recently started getting hands on about 2 years ago. I'm a college student so I'm struggling to get the proper tools. I can install systems properly and build boxes and work with fiberglass a little.I don't have anyone I can turn to on this matter so this is why I am here to learn. My tweeters are mounted on axis in factory locations. I will have to cut my door panels and make custom speaker holes and move the tweeter to the door.
Carnines Posted December 4, 2015 Report Posted December 4, 2015 If you want help from SQ guys go over to diyma... this is more of an SPL forum imo
