Jman9112 Posted December 27, 2015 Report Posted December 27, 2015 Hey guys, I'm looking for a step up from my alpine mrp m100. (1000wrms @ 2 ohm). My soundstream r3.12 subs are rated 800wrms power handling a piece and I would like to get that to them. Would buying two of these N2s or GMs be a good idea? One to each sub? Any advice if either of these would be worth it to switch to let me know. Thanks! (currently wired both d2 subs in series/parallel for 2 ohm final load on the alpine, would do parallel for 1 ohm at each N2/Gm.) http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_27728_Massive-Audio-N2.html http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_63976_Pioneer-GM-D8601.html Ballin' on a budget.
BoomZoom808 Posted December 27, 2015 Report Posted December 27, 2015 Why not just spend a little bit more and get 1 bigger mono block 2010 Mazda 3s 2.5L Pioneer DEH-X9600BHS Knu OFC 1/0 SS Platinum AGM / XS Power XP750 Alpine PDX F-4 / Morel Maximo 5 + Coax 5 IA 10.1 / SSA XCON 12
Jman9112 Posted December 27, 2015 Author Report Posted December 27, 2015 You recommend any 1ohm stable amps that do 1600rms for like 250 and under? Ballin' on a budget.
BoomZoom808 Posted December 27, 2015 Report Posted December 27, 2015 Soundstream and Hifonics both make monoblocks that would fit the bill. There are better but you need more cash. I would tell you to get the TA1.2000D But they are out of stock... And the TA1.3000 might be a little more than you need. 2010 Mazda 3s 2.5L Pioneer DEH-X9600BHS Knu OFC 1/0 SS Platinum AGM / XS Power XP750 Alpine PDX F-4 / Morel Maximo 5 + Coax 5 IA 10.1 / SSA XCON 12
Jman9112 Posted December 27, 2015 Author Report Posted December 27, 2015 I've never liked hifonics amps, they seem to have poor construction. And my bad with the 1 ohm, it has to be 1600 at 2 ohm or .5 ohm. (2 ohm is more probable) since I have 2 d2 subs. Ballin' on a budget.

Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for.
Jman9112 Posted December 27, 2015 Author Report Posted December 27, 2015 And what about the pioneer? Ballin' on a budget.
MrSkippyJ Posted December 27, 2015 Report Posted December 27, 2015 Am I seeing it right? The pioneer would be 1/2 the power? F150: Stock 2019 Harley Road Glide: Amp: TM400Xad - 4 channel 400 watt Processor: DSR1 Fairing (Front) 6.5s -MMats PA601cx Lid (Rear) 6x9s - TMS69
Skullz Posted December 27, 2015 Report Posted December 27, 2015 You have a superior amp compared to the two options you have listed and you want to down grade? That alpine will trounce the amps you have listed, and will be of better sound, quality, and reliability. EDIT: if you want an upgrade be on the look out for the mrp m2000, or find a quality piece your willing to play @.5 ohm. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
Jman9112 Posted December 27, 2015 Author Report Posted December 27, 2015 You might be misunderstanding. I would run 2 of each of these amps. One to each driver. Doubling the power. Ballin' on a budget.
