Then turn the gain down is it possible to have the same outcome on the electrical strain/power as the amp wired at 1ohm with the amp gain turned up to the correct gain setting? What are your thoughts?

Totalnoob Posted January 5, 2016 Author Report Posted January 5, 2016 may i ask why? i really dont see a point to it.. I want to buy a used sub from someone for super cheap but its dual 1 ohm and dont feel like reconing it until it blows or something bad happens.

kirill007 Posted January 5, 2016 Report Posted January 5, 2016 You could do that, but then the amp will probably output less power then at 1 ohm. Since (most) amps are a lot less efficient at 0.5 ohm. Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for.

Set gain correctly and you will be fine He said he isn't sure of his electrical, he doesn't have Quad 350A alternator and 4 3100's. Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for.
