I am getting the feeling that tuning the port at Fs does not give max output? Maybe I was thinking Fb. Can we buy a clue?

It looks like I'm on my own. I will research the correlation between Fs and tuning and report back.

Hey, sorry I was at work. I think you had Fb and Fs confused. Fs is just free air resonance.

Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

I say jump up to the hdc4 and get a 18 if can fit it. The hdc315 has higher sensitivity over the 18.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hmm?

I'm having a hard time understanding why you suggested the HDC418 and made the statement about the hdc315 having higher sensitivity than the 18...

Sorry that was a bit confusing.what I meant was that if he decided to stick with the hdc3 series that I'd personally go with the 15 due to higher sensitivity over the hdc318.

I bet that sensitivity number is wrong, there is no reason why a 15" sub would be more sensitive than an 18" of the same product series.

It doesn't matter anyway. Once you put the sub in a box, that sensitivity number doesn't mean much.

Who knows. I've seen similar specs on other Brands of woofers where the only difference was the cone size. And how does the box effect that?
