CleanSierra
Tuning at Fs will give the most output. Playing below port tuning can risk over excursion. So if I tune a sub with an Fs of 17 Hz, like the Stereo Integrity HST18, I'll get the most output from that sub? Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you. ShadeTreeMechanic
I am getting the feeling that tuning the port at Fs does not give max output? Maybe I was thinking Fb. ShadeTreeMechanic
It looks like I'm on my own. reedal
I say jump up to the hdc4 and get a 18 if can fit it. The hdc315 has higher sensitivity over the 18.LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!Hmm? I'm having a hard time understanding why you suggested the HDC418 and made the statement about the hdc315 having higher sensitivity than the 18... Sorry that was a bit confusing.what I meant was that if he decided to stick with the hdc3 series that I'd personally go with the 15 due to higher sensitivity over the hdc318. Triticum Agricolam
I bet that sensitivity number is wrong, there is no reason why a 15" sub would be more sensitive than an 18" of the same product series. It doesn't matter anyway. Once you put the sub in a box, that sensitivity number doesn't mean much. I've seen similar specs on other Brands of woofers where the only difference was the cone size. And how does the box effect that?
